Bob Whelan has a retailing background going back to the early 1970's.  Bob has constantly worked to expand his knowledge related to his particular areas of specialty - Building Materials retailing and the systems that power that industry.

With a BSBA Magna Cum Laude in Marketing and a Minor in Accounting , and additional MS coursework in Software Engineering, Bob's technical career began at the University of Hartford, while working as the Site Administrator on a VAX VMS 11/780 for the Barney School of Business.  After college, Bob went to work for Triad Systems Corporation, rising through the ranks, and finally leaving to work as the CEO of a large Building Materials retailer based in the Hudson Valley.

As an independent consultant, numerous procedures have been developed, including performing the first electronic data conversion of a retail Hardware dealer changing their Co-op affiliation (and changing all their SKU's).  In 1995, Bob developed a software product to work in conjunction with the Epicor © Eagle © for the performing of an Audited Physical Inventory (as certified by Price-Waterhouse-Coopers) giving unprecedented ability to allow for independent verification of inventory counted in situ and expanded reporting of variances.

Bob as a partner in Group CBF, Inc. was also one of the designers of the Intelligent© Suite of SaaS store pricing, inventory reorder point establishing and  goal setting / monitoring  management tools.

In 2006, Bob, with 4 existing employees, purchased a Lumber and Building materials retail operation in Northwest Connecticut .  In 2012, Washington Supply was named 'Best Hardware Store in Connecticut' by Home Channel News.

Bob is also a United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional for Building Design and Construction, as well as having completed all the course work to become a Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) HERS (Home Energy Rating System) Rater.

The father of 3 boys, Bob has been married 40 years, and currently serves the community as the elected representative to the Region One School Board from Sharon, as well as the Sharon, Connecticut representative to the Advisory Board for the Hewat-Mahoney Science and Technology Center at Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village, Connecticut.
